The first online Capacity Building Workshop – French Case Study
On the 17th of March, the LIME project held its first online Capacity Building Workshop “Migrants Labour Inclusion: Activation of Network and Cluster” to discuss the integration of young migrants into the labour market, particularly focusing on the French case.
The online event gathered 54 participants and 13 speakers who together reflected during 4 hours on the good practices to implement in order to foster the swift labour inclusion of young TCNs. They also discussed the solutions and experiences already settled which could inspire news initiatives.
During the first part of the webinar, members of CIES Onlus introduced the LIME project as well as the needs and interventions to be addressed regarding migrant’s labour inclusion. Furthermore, LUMSA University shared with us the Migrants’ Economic Integration Cluster (MEIC) methodology promoted by the LIME project with the aim to spread it at a European level.
Afterwards, many experts from the field spoke about migrants’ labour inclusion, sharing their prowess and their experiences and interventions. We had the chance to welcome various speakers from Italy, Spain and France such as project managers of NGO, Professors, Vocational counsellors, etc. This moment was also a time to discuss and exchange with the participants about the need, the gaps, the good practices, the type of partnerships needed, etc., regarding the integration of young migrants into the labour market.
Finally, the workshop was also the opportunity to learn more about two other projects: the project Journey and JeChange! Project, both good examples of initiatives in the field of young migrants’ labour inclusion.
The discussion with the participants gathered feedback and experiences with the final aim of creating a standard version of the MEIC – Migrants Economic Integration Cluster – methodology.
In conclusion, it was a truly enriching moment! And this is only the first out of many; take notes of these following dates: Spanish Case Study 21 April (you can already register HERE); Webinar Initiative “Employers together for Integration” 5 May; Italian Case Study 19 May; International Workshop 9 June – workshop; Bruxelles 21 June – Final Conference.
